Rainy Day

Well yesterday was bath day here and I must say I enjoyed it very much.  I love to kick and splash in my tub.  Then when I get out I get wrapped in a towel to dry me off and keep me warm.  I must sat I look very cute.  I have some bath toys that daddy brings in to play with.  He will squirt me and laugh and play.  I don't play with the toys yet, but I may have to try soon because daddy makes it look like so much fun.

This week has been a little laid back although I think I heard daddy tell mommy we were going somewhere today.  I think daddy is going to go get a haircut and I get to go.  I hope it does not interrupt my afternoon nap.  The weather today is dark and rainy.  I really like when it is sunny out but I guess daddy and I will have to deal with it.

My First Balloon

Earlier this week, we went to a birthday party for Mike across the street.  I saw all my neighbors there and it was fun!  There were kids running around, grown ups talking and blues music playing in the background.  When we left, Miss Elaine gave me a balloon!  I really get a kick out of pulling on the string and having the balloon bounce around my head!  I hope that I get balloons on my birthday!
On Thursday, we went to the doctor so we could check my weight.  I weighed 13 pounds!  The doctor said I was doing GREAT!  Im so proud of myself eating right and gaining weight like Im supposed to!!!
Its cold outside this weekend, but Im sure that Mommy and Daddy have something exciting planned for the weekend.  Even if we just hang out together at home as a family I'm happy :)

Miss Independent

I must say I am really starting to like this eating thing.  I am so good at eating my rice cereal off the spoon that I think I overheard mommy and daddy talking about moving me to fruits and vegetables.  I am not sure what they are but it could be interesting.  I am now up to two tablespoons of rice cereal and it is pretty dry. I like to play with it in my mouth before I let it go down my throat.  I am still taking my formula and in fact I usually give it to myself, unless I am sleepy.  It is fun to hold the bottle and put it to my mouth.  My aim is a little off sometimes so mommy and daddy have to help me.  I must say I am becoming a little Miss Independent with each day I grow.

Today Miss Rebecca from next door brought me a beautiful gift!  Using flowers grown in her garden, she dried them and formed them into my name!  It's so special - I cant wait until Daddy hangs it in my room.
I had a fun weekend with Mommy and Daddy. We went to the mall both Saturday and Sunday; there are just so many sites to see at the mall - people, colors, lights, clothes.  My most favorite thing at the mall is Santa, but he wasnt there on this trip.  Mommy tried on a lot of dresses so I had to go into a couple different dressing rooms.  She asked me to behave so I either slept or played with the toys attached to my stroller.


This morning I was able to sit on my own for a little bit - sooner or later I'll be able to sit on my own without toppling over onto my playmat.  

The Night the Lights Went Out in North Carolina

Well from the title of the post you can probably tell we lost power here at some point.  It happened on Monday night as daddy and I were sitting on the couch waiting for mommy to come home from work.  We were just sitting there talking and blowing bubbles at each other when it got very dark.  At first I did not know what was going on but I was not upset.  After a few seconds daddy and I got up and walked to get something.  It turned out that daddy was going to get his flashlight so we could see.  I felt at lot better after I could see daddy and knew he was there.   Daddy and I then went to find some candles to set up so we had even more light.  Soon after, mommy came home and we were all under the same roof.  Mommy was holding me and daddy was going around setting up candles so we could all see.  I must say the candles gave off a nice glow in the room.  Everything was so quiet, no power or HVAC systems running.  I good news is that the power came back on in 45 minutes so we were all safe and happy.  

Eating Grown-up Style!

Last week I started to eat rice cereal from a spoon!!!  It was hard the first time Daddy fed it to me because I didn't know what to do with my mouth, but after a few times I'm starting to get the hang of it.  The best part about it is how messy I can be and Mommy and Daddy don't care!  It's so much fun!! 

I get extremely exhausted in the evenings these days because I've been doing so many crunches.  I have to strengthen my core to be able to sit up, so my work out needs to be followed religiously.  Crunches morning, noon and night, rolling over all times of the day and a nap in the middle of course!!

My New Friend

Well things are starting to settle down here and it looks like the holidays may be over.  Mommy and daddy took the tree that we decorated with lights and ordainments down last night.  Daddy was a little sad but said it was a great Christmas tree.  I must say the house looks a little empty without it there.  I really liked looking at the lights myself.  They were so pretty!!!


I'm not sure if I told you but Santa was very good to me this year.  I received many gifts and one that I am starting to like more and more everyday.  It is this giraffe named Sophie.  It is made of rubber so I can chew on him.  I really like to hold him and chew on his head.  It helps my gums feel better.  I also received some great gifts from my grandparents, aunts and uncles.  I am such a lucky girl to have so many people who love me.

Changing of the Guard

This week has started off a little different from other weeks.  The day starts out the same with mommy coming in to give me my bottle in the early morning but then something changes.  I go back to bed and then when I wake up daddy is there to change me, feed me, and take care of me.  I must say that it is nice to have daddy here all day so we can play and be goofy, but I do miss my mommy.  The good news is she comes home in the evening and I get her all to myself.  

Daddy has a little different style in taking care of me.  For instance we stay in our underwear all day long, or at least until mommy comes home.  Then I don't drink my formula anymore I take this green bottle that daddy says will make me big and strong.  You know I see daddy drinking this same bottle and it usually makes him really goofy and tired.  Mommy says daddy is drunk when that happens.  I hope daddy knows what he is doing!!!!

A New Year, A New Me

There has been a lot of progress recently.  Thankfully, both Mommy and Daddy have both been home with me the past few days to see what I can do.  If I get laid down on my back, I constantly try to sit up.  I so badly want to sit up on my own; Im trying so hard Im going to have abs of steel before I know it.  My new years resolution: to be sitting up on my own by the end of January.  Wish me luck!!!
