Birthday Festivities!

This weekend was Adam's first birthday! I had so much fun it may as well have been my own birthday.  There's lots of cake to eat, new toys to play with and Grammie and Gramps came to celebrate with us! Even though Adam got a lot of nice gifts, I got some of my own, including bubbles to play with in the backyard, a pretty dress, a coloring book and yummy snacks. In addition to gifts, I got to spend the afternoon at Pullen park with Grammie, which was a lot of fun! We rode the carousel, the boats and the train!!
On Adam's birthday I got to help decorate Adam's lamb cake. When asked the lamb's name, I called him Kardidoo. It was a good looking lamb cake!
A few weeks ago, Mommy and Daddy bought me a new scooter! I practiced with it for a while in the house and I finally got to go ride it around the track at the school and I am good at it! It's helping me with my balance and coordination.  I even showed off my skills to Grammie and Gramps one evening after dinner. I had a great weekend and I have a feeling it's going to be a fun summer!!!

Springtime Happenings!

Mother's Day Flowers

So many things happened this week, I don't know where to start! The week began with lots of men in our backyard cutting down trees! I had such a good time watching them cutting down tree after tree after tree...I lost count after a while. Since the trees are gone the house is so much lighter inside and we have been spending a lot of time back there - which makes me happy :) Daddy spent a lot of time out back with big blocks building a wall, I love the way it looks! Speaking of the backyard, the garden we planted last month is growing! I like to help watering it and Mommy spotted a small tomato growing just today.

We also picked strawberries this weekend! I am proud to say that I actually picked this time rather than eat, so it was fun. And Mommy and Daddy were smart enough to take my picture in front of the strawberry BEFORE we went picking and I was willing to stand there just long enough for daddy to get a photo. To continue the tradition, we got ice cream to cool off after we got done picking. I finished my entire cup all by myself! I had such a good time that I passed out on the way home.

Mommy took me to church this week and I have started paying more attention during mass. Today I was singing church songs and have been walking around yelling, "Jesus Christ." I figure if the priest says it, it must be important.

A Day for Mommy

Today was a beautiful day to celebrate Mother's Day! After church, Daddy and I brought home a card and flowers for Mommy. Then, we enjoyed a picnic lunch in the backyard! I tried to be on my best behavior when spending time with Mommy today so that she would have a great day! I love my Mommy and I'm so glad I get to spend so much time with her!
The same can't be said about Adam though, or so I say. When I get angry about something, I always blame him, it's easier. When something doesn't go my way I say, "I don't like Adam." It seems like a good thing to do because he can't talk back and he never gets in trouble. I think he will have a lot of fun strawberry picking next weekend - I can't wait to teach him all the ropes about picking, especially eating them!

Keeping Clean with the Cup

Washing Adam's hair - he doesn't seem to mind

Now that Adam has gotten old enough to fend for himself, I have started playing more and more with him. A fun activity is pretending to wash his hair. "Getting the cup" as I have deemed the process of rinsing, is something that I love to talk about but hate to do. I still haven't perfected looking up at the ceiling to prevent water getting in my eyes. Anyways, I talk about getting the cup constantly, especially at dinner time and since I love it so much I decided Adam can enjoy it too. I think he seems to be okay with it.
Another fun activity is playing in Adam's exersaucer. Even though I'm too big for it, I like to pretend like I am riding a horse in it. Mommy was so impressed that I could get into it myself, she let me stay in it. And, since I can get out of it on my own, I may start going in it more often. The thing I like most about it is that it has a great view out the front window.
This weekend we diverted from our routine and went downtown to walk around, check out a museum and enjoy what little sun decided to peek out in the midst of all these clouds that don't seem to go away. I had fun running around the Capitol building looking at statues and we walked around at a street festival.
No matter what the weather is outside, I'm always happy! Today Daddy looked down, so I kept asking him, "Smile at me, Daddy!" And what did he do. Of course, he smiled, just like everyone else smiles for me!!

Hair Grows Fast

May 2012
Last night when Daddy was washing my hair, he made my hair into a unicorn, just like he did almost one year ago today. I haven't had a single haircut yet in my life so here's proof that I must have a great diet that makes my hair grow fast!!!
