It hasn't been long, but we have been enjoying a brand new kitchen at our house. Mom and Dad worked really hard for a little over a month taking everything, I mean everything out of our old kitchen and getting it ready for new countertops, cabinets and appliances. My favorite part is sitting at the counter and being a part of the action in the kitchen. One night we watched Dad make sushi. Better yet, sometimes I participate in the action. One day, I helped Mom make pasta salad and a peach pie. It's so much nicer helping in our new kitchen, I love it!

Back to School!
After a perfect summer break (not too short or too long) with lots of fun activities, it was time to hit the books and go back to school as a 3rd grader! I was really excited for my first day and I really like my teacher! It will be a good year with Mrs Dickerson! The night before our first day, we had a special evening out at a Durham Bulls Game. Grammie and Gramps had given me a gift certificate for a game and it included dinner and dessert! Although it took a while to get exactly what I wanted for dinner, I had a really fun time relaxing and learning about the game with Dad. It was a great day to end summer and start another school year!

A Magical Week in PA
A few days after we got to PA, we were off on another road trip! This time we went to Niagara Falls! It was a really cool experience seeing the water falls. First, we started with a boat trip into Horseshoe Falls on the Maid of the Mist. After a quick picnic lunch, we went on the Cave of the Winds tour which took us on boardwalks right to the base of Bridal Veil Falls! The Hurricane Zone was the best! The cool water felt great on a hot day and the power of the waterfall was just awesome! We finished our fabulous day with dinner at Hard Rock Cafe.
A trip to Grammie and Gramps' is never complete without a trip to camp. We did all the fun things at camp this time, although it was extra fun because all the grandkids were there and we played lots of games together. The balloon fight was one of the highlights although the piƱata was fun too. This time we went down to the river and cooled off. We enjoyed building a dam and throwing rocks until we heard a big clap of thunder and left there lickety split! We finished our day at camp with a cookout although it started to rain so we made do with having dessert inside.
It was a great trip this year, and to remember it, I kept a journal this time. Every day I tried to be good about sitting down at my small desk and writing about what we did so that I could remember. And remember I will the magical week!
