Post Christmas Visit

Stretching after a walk on the greenway
After all the excitement from Christmas morning wore off and we were lazing around watching A Christmas Story, Mom asked if I wanted to join her to pick up Mimi and Papa at the airport. Adam stayed home to play with his new toys, so I got to enjoy some one on one time with Mimi in the backseat on the car ride home. We went for a short walk to the park and then it was dinner time. Dinner was a nice roast beef and afterwards we got to open more presents from Mimi and Papa.
During their visit, we enjoyed spending time together playing with some of our new things from Santa (especially the board game Operation, we played it probably 30 times!). We also had some fun outings to parks to enjoy the mild weather. One of the parks had a cool zipline that was a blast! Another morning, Papa and I made pancakes for breakfast and it was so nice just having them here to visit us. Before I knew it though, we were driving them to the airport for them to fly home. It was a great trackout and holiday season. It started great with Grammie and Gramps and ended great with Mimi and Papa!

Christmas 2018!

My side of the gingerbread house
Another Merry Christmas in the books! All the hype leading up to the big day did not disappoint. Plus, we spaced everything out so we ended up baking cookies and assembling the gingerbread house a few days before Christmas eve. I had fun baking the Hershey Buds with Dad. Christmas Eve morning, Adam and I greeted Mom and Dad when they came down the steps with an enthusiastic "Merry Christmas Eve!" We had a nice relaxing day, complete with our traditional spetzel soup and Christmas Eve mass. When we got home from church, we opened up family exchange presents while enjoying some cheese and crackers. I got some clothes from Mom and Dad, plus we got a new video game system too! Before going to bed we chose our best cookies to leave for Santa, left a carrot for the reindeer and wrote letters for Santa's visit. Then, we went to bed and waited for the magic to happen.
In my stocking, Santa left new pens and pads of paper for me to use at my desk. Here's my writings reflecting on Christmas day:
It was 6:00AM and everybody in the Young family was sleeping in their beds. At 7:05 the kids, Cora and Adam went downstairs to see what happened last night. They found presents under the tree, cookies gone and milk gone and Santa Claus had left a note. It said:
Cora and Adam, Thank you for the cookies! Enjoy the presents and Merry Christmas! -Santa
At 7:45 Mom and Dad woke up. Dad got his tea and Mom got cozy and we started opening presents. I opened a lot of presents and found them all very interesting. Santa Claus brought me:
fitbit, slippers, earmuffs, sweater, rubix cube, robe, squishy human body, stuff for my Barbies, stuff for my hair, water bottle, clothes, cones, Mancala, Operation and a radio.
Next we watched the movie, A Christmas Story. In the middle of the movie me and my mom went to the airport to pick up Mimi and Papa. We picked them up and went back home. For dinner we had roast beef. After dinner, we opened up presents and cousin. After that we got ready for bed and I went to sleep and dreamed good dreams.
