Last Quarter of First Grade!

I can't believe I'm on the home stretch of the school year! In just 6 weeks I will be done with first grade! In the meantime though, I'm still managing to have fun. For Easter, Grammie and Gramps got me a gift card to Toys R Us so I could finally get my own Hatchimal! I nurtured the egg and before I knew it, Hatchie cracked out of the egg! Now, I'm doing all sorts of fun things with it and I tell all my friends at school about it.
The entire week leading up to Friday night, I was so excited for the Daddy Daughter Dance! Finally when Friday evening came, I got dressed up, put on some jewelry and a bit of makeup and was ready for my Stroll Through Paris with Dad! Before the dance, we went out to dinner at Over the Falls. Then, we enjoyed a night of dancing together. It was really hot, but I had a great time with him!
The fun kept going the next day when we drove out to visit Sarah, a friend of Mom and Dad's who I met when I was just a wee little baby. We met Sarah at a farm where she keeps her horse, Buckeye. I loved meeting him and I was so excited that Sarah let me ride him!! Before I could ride him though, we had to brush him, clean his hooves and put on his saddle. When I finally got on, it felt like I was so high! I kept asking if I could ride him without someone leading, very confident in my horse riding abilities! We trotted a few times once I was comfortable and it was so fun! I could have ridden all day! We took a break for lunch after getting a snack ready for Buckeye to eat. Before we left we gave him a shower and scrubbed him so that he was all nice and clean! I had so much fun visiting the horse - maybe there is horse riding lessons in my future!

Happy Easter 2017!

Despite the fact that the Easter Bunny did not bring me a Hatchimal, I had a great Easter this year! The fun started at school with a fun math Easter egg hunt on Thursday. Then, we didn't have school on Good Friday so I enjoyed the morning at home with Adam, the house filled with the aroma of baking hot cross buns and boiling eggs. Then when Daddy came home in the afternoon we spent time together and got to color easter eggs! The weather was beautiful the entire weekend, perfect for the neighborhood Easter egg hunt on Saturday morning and grilling dinner on Saturday night. We finally took the new grill outside and grilled kabobs for dinner.

On Sunday morning we woke up and got ready for church. Before leaving for church we got a glimpse of what the Easter bunny had brought us! I got a new bike!!! Once we got home from church, we got to change and go test out my new bike! It's a beautiful magenta color complete with hand breaks! It seems so much bigger than my old bike, but luckily it wasn't too challenging riding it. I just have to get used to it being heavier and being up higher! For some reason the bike the bunny gave me had a problem with the gears and it wasn't working right. I had remembered seeing the bike at Wal-Mart so Daddy suggested we take it there to see if they would let me get a different one. It didn't take long to exchange it and we were back home in no time with my new bike. It even has my new bell on it already. We finished our relaxing Easter weekend with a yummy ham dinner and playing with the new Legos from Grammie and Gramps.

1st Grade Field Trip!

I had a blast on my zoo field trip! It was a breezy, chilly spring day but that didn't stop me from having a fabulous day with Mommy. Since so many parents were chaperones, I got her all to myself at the zoo. We saw lots of animals and I climbed on every single animal sculpture that we came upon during our walk through the zoo. Luckily this time we FINALLY saw the polar bears! The polar bear walked right next to me and he was huge! I also thought it was funny that one of the gorillas was putting his finger in another gorillas butt! Animals do crazy things!
The best part of all though: the charter bus! I used the bathroom twice! So cool! It didn't even bother me that there was no soap, just sanitizer!

More Track Out Fun

I'm back in school now, which I was pretty excited about going back to school. I did however enjoy the end of my track out though. Mommy took me roller skating, went to the park, visited Marbles Museum, and I got to help her on one of her site visits for her landscaping work. I was a big help with measuring. One day I got to go to a birthday party with Adam. I was allowed to participate in the Ghostbusters fun! We went on a scavenger hunt to bust ghosts. The best part was, we got to keep our backpacks. When we got home, I created my own scavenger hunt for Mom and Dad. They were impressed how I made a clue for every hidden item - one in each room of the house!
Now that I'm back in school I have a super fun field trip to the zoo coming up soon!!
