Amazing Weekend!

I've been putting off the blog because I didn't want to spoil the surprise I had for Grammie and Gramps when they came to visit us this weekend. I got my hair cut!! I was so excited to cut my hair short, when Mom finally took me I think they cut off 4"! Grammie and Gramps were certainly surprised when they met met at my bus stop after school on Friday! They said that I had gotten taller and I know I feel more grown up with my hair cut short.
We had a great weekend with our visitors! The air show, Wings Over Wayne was an especially good time. The Blue Angels demonstration had to be my favorite part. I was enjoying it so much I was dancing to the music (The Sound of Silence was playing at one point) in between maneuvers. After the demonstration, I met some of the pilots too.
We were really tired after a long hot day at the air show, but it didn't stop us from having a great time on Sunday with Grammie and Gramps. They took us strawberry picking and we played badminton in the backyard. I'm slowly starting to get the hang of it and thankfully Mom set up a net in the backyard so we can play.
Although it was a short visit, I had a great time this weekend!

Party It UP!

Me as the Lorax
I've been to some fun social events recently. Last weekend, I went to celebrate Kaori's birthday which was a Japanese Tea Party. We participated in lots of Japanese themed activities such as decorating fans, folding origami, and a chopsticks competition where we had to pick up as many mini marshmallows was we could with the chopsticks in one minute. There were some interesting foods to try and I had fun playing with my friends in her backyard. I got a cool party favor with my name written in Japanese on it.
Then, this weekend, Mom took me to Meet in the Street where we met my friend Norah. We enjoyed walking around the festival and partaking in some of the activities. My favorite was the smokey Fire Safety House (as always) and the big bouncy house slide that Norah and I slid down together. Later in the day we went to a dinner party at Cathy and Adam's house. It was a little boring when all the adults were standing around and talking, but after dinner we played a really fun game called Bocci ball. What made it extra cool is the balls glowed!!
