Weekend in Virginia!

This past weekend we traveled to Virginia to visit my cousins!!  It was filled with lots of playing, swinging, dancing and exploring. I got to spend Friday morning with Mommy and Daddy came home early from work so we could get on the road.  The ride in the car went SO FAST!  I feel asleep for my afternoon nap and when I woke up I was in Virginia!  My Uncle Mike, Aunt Sandy and cousins Kaitlyn and Lauren greeted us when we arrived at their house!  

It was a fun weekend.  On Friday night I got to meet some new people and I got to stay up later than normal.  On Saturday I slept in until 7 and when I got up I got to play with my cousins.  They did a really good job watching me and playing with me.  I had fun!  We got ready to go and drove to historic Yorktown to see the riverfront and a farmers market.  After walking around a bit, we took a ride around on a trolly to look at Yorktown. Once that was over, we went back to my cousin's house, had lunch and got ready to go in the pool!  The radio was playing and it inspired me to dance!  Everyone was enjoying it and having a great time! I love making people joyful!  After a nice dinner out, we came back, I got a bath and I was ready for bed!  
We woke up Sunday morning and I got to play with my cousins again.  We had a nice breakfast and relaxed, but unfortunately by then it was time to go home.  The weekend went way too fast, but I had such a good time!  I can't wait to see everyone again!  Hope you enjoy the video of me dancing in my bathing suit!!!

A New Discovery

Today after I got home from daycare I found the fireplace!  Mommy had to work late today so Daddy and I were hanging out together.  When he wasn't paying attention I went into the dining room and was pretending to play with the door on the buffet.  I slowly worked my way towards the fireplace and climbed on it.  I was hoping Daddy wouldn't find out, but I was being so quiet, he got suspicious and came to check on me.  He found me, but not before I got the chance to explore.  Since we don't have any steps at our house I had to practice climbing up some sort of step!  The fireplace worked perfectly!
So, that was my new discovery today - I can't wait to see what I may discover when we go to visit my cousins in Virginia this weekend!!! I am so excited to see them; I haven't seen them since Thanksgiving!

Happy Daddy's Day!

Today is a great day so far and its even better because I have such a wonderful Daddy.  He liked the present I got him and he enjoyed fresh blueberry muffins that Mommy and I made before he woke up this morning.  I was so excited that they let me try the muffins.  They were delicious!

It has been such a long time since I last wrote.  I'll have to think hard about what I have been up to recently. Yesterday, we went to pick blackberries and blueberries.  I liked the fact that the berries were up higher and easier to pick.  I picked a couple myself and ate them!  They were so yummy!!  There were bees buzzing around everywhere, but I wasn't afraid because Mommy was carrying me. 
On Friday, I went swimming with my friend Adellyn at her house.  She let me borrow her floating raft for relaxing in the cool water.  After I floated around for a while, she took her turn in it and I swam with Mommy.  It was fun when I kicked my legs and pretended like I was swimming. We tried the baby pool. but all I could do was sit in it because if I tried to crawl, water got in my face.  I had a really great time swimming.  I would go swimming everyday if we had a pool because its so HOT outside this summer!!

Most recently when Mommy and Daddy get me out of the bathtub, I like to lift my legs up and watch the water drip from me.  Its so funny, it always makes Mommy and Daddy laugh.  I am so flexible I love it!    

All This Excitement Makes Me Pooped!

Over the weekend Mommy and Daddy bought a new stroller!  I like this new stroller - especially because everyday since we bought it, I have gotten to go for a walk with Mommy and Daddy.  I love grabbing the bar and pretending like I'm on a ride!  The other day I had such a good time, I passed out before we even made it home.  
Lately its been hard napping at daycare.  It's so loud there and I'm afraid if I sleep too much I will miss out on something.  Today when I got home from daycare, Daddy set me on my playmat and I passed out I was so tired!  
I have been continuing to do the best I can at chewing my food and drinking out of a cup.  I'm starting to like the grape juice that Mommy and Daddy put into my cup, so I'm learning that if I move my elbows up really high I can get the juice into my mouth.  The other day I tried yogurt too...it wasn't too bad, but it wasn't like anything I had tasted before.  I'm glad to be moving on to some new and exciting foods; I was really starting to get sick of pureed everything!

Little Miss Independent

I know its not quite Independence Day, but I'm getting excited for the holiday mainly because Mommy dressed me today in a shirt that said, "Little Miss Independent".  I would like to say that I'm turning into an independent little girl!  On Thursday, I went to the doctor, where I weighed a whopping 17lbs 4oz.  The doctor talked about how I should be able to eat lots of solid foods and drink from a cup.  All I can say is I'm glad the doctor said that because I am LOVING the new foods I'm trying.  I can eat pieces of banana, toast and veggies on my own without gagging.  I even tried some grape juice today and it was sooo much better than formula!
For now, I'm still enjoying crawling around everywhere getting into things, I still like to suck on the oven handle and lift myself up on the TV stand.  Mommy and Daddy tell me NO but I pretend like I don't know what that means.  I'm really good at sitting in the middle of the floor and turning around in circles with no hands - I only use my legs and feet!  Mommy tried to take a picture of it, but I was too fast for her.  So far, I'm just enjoying getting into everything and spending time with Mommy and Daddy.
