A Tribute to Napping

I've been so active in the past weeks that I tend to catch a cat nap whenever possible, usually falling asleep in weird positions or cuddled in Daddy's arms.  Yesterday I took my first official steps of crawling and Daddy caught it all on tape!  That will wear you out!  It's so hard coordinating your hands and feet together I have to take breaks often!
It got really warm out for a while but it got really cold again, so I haven't been out for a walk in a while.  Instead of going on walks, I've been practicing on my Kick 'n Play piano.  I've figured out how to push the buttons to make music, and when Mommy moves it away from me, I have to wiggle myself (or crawl now that I've figured it out) back to it.  I have such a nice play area set up for me, I can entertain myself for hours!!
Mommy has been packing stuff for the past couple of days. She tells me she is going on a trip for a few days, but that I'm not allowed to come with her.  Daddy and I are going to have a lot of quality time together in the next couple of days!  I can't wait for all the fun we will have!

It's Starting to Feel Like Summer

Yesterday it was so warm it felt like summer.  To celebrate the warm weather I dressed appropriately in shorts and a tank.  While I was dressed for the occasion, I tried on my hat and sandals as if we were going to the beach!  I think Im going to really like summer and going to the beach!
I have been so busy the past two weeks!  There are so many new things that I love to grab and I absolutely love to scream about it!  So, everyone must be advised when they are around me to carefully watch the following or i WILL grab it (list subject to change at any time):

  • Shiny jewelry, especially watches
  • Glasses
  • Hair
  • Remotes or cell phones, really anything with buttons will do
  • Tags
  • Noses
My list of foods has also been expanding recently.  Now I've tried peaches, pears, peas and I think next on the list will be prunes and green beans!  I can't wait!  Typically when Im sitting in my high chair to eat, I will scream - happy screams, not crying screams.  I just get so excited about eating that I just don't know what else to do.
All the other kids at daycare can sit up on their own, so in order to fit in I've learned how to sit up on my own too.  It's much easier to play and see what is going on around me when I'm sitting.  If I am laying on my tummy, I have to rotate myself all the way around (which I'm very good at I must add) to see behind me.
Me last weekend cheering on Penn State Basketball
Now that its warm and nice out Mommy, Daddy and I take a walk every day.  I love to sit in my stroller and look up at the sky!  I hope this great weather stays for a while so we go for a walks ALL THE TIME!

Weekend in Texas!

This past weekend, may exciting things happened.  My Uncle Marcus got married and I instantly got a new Aunt Tracie!  It was my first time visiting Texas, I figured out how to get up on all fours in preparation for crawling, and I got to see a lot of new family members that I have never seen before.  So many people, strangers in the airport, people at the wedding and even Mimi and Papa kept saying how adorable I am...I must really be special!
I had my own seat on the airplane!
So the weekend started out on Thursday actually.  We woke up in the morning and instead of going to daycare, we got ready and left for the airport.  Another ride on an airplane - and better yet, a Thursday spend with Mommy and Daddy.  It seemed like all day long, but eventually we made it to Temple, Texas, the place where Mommy grew up.  And guess who was there?!!!  My Great Grand Gramps!!  I was really really exhausted so I was screaming on the car ride to Gramps, but when I saw him and I knew I was getting ready for bed, I felt so much better.  Even though I was in a strange place, I got a good night's rest.  We woke up on Friday morning and had a nice day with Gramps.  While I was playing on the floor, I decided to try bending my legs and getting up on my hands...and it was great!  I could stay in the crawling position, just like the other babies at daycare.  Even better, Mommy and Daddy were so proud of me!!
Learning how to crawl!
After having playtime, we got in the car and drove to a new place called College Station.  When we got there, I saw Mimi, Papa and Uncle Marcus!  It was such a treat! The next thing I knew I was getting dressed up and we were going to dinner.  Uncle Marcus had to practice for his wedding the next day.  I met some more new faces including some of Mommy's cousins, aunts and uncles.  Everyone really liked my stockings and of course said how adorable I was!
The next day I woke up with an upset tummy...all the traveling and new places must have gotten to me.  Even though my tummy was rumbling, I wasn't going to let it ruin my day - especially Uncle Marcus's big day!  I relaxed with Mommy and Daddy and Papa during the day and before I knew it I was getting into another dress!  Everyone was all dressed up and we went to see the wedding!  The day was chilly and very windy - I had to stay bundled up because the wedding was outside.  I was very well behaved for the entire ceremony - it was nice of Daddy to hold me. The ceremony didn't last long, but everyone seemed very happy for Uncle Marcus and Aunt Tracie.  I spent a little bit of time at the reception, but I got tired quickly.  Being sick made me feel exhausted.  So, Daddy took me to bed and I fell fast asleep.  It was a good day!
Snoozing on the plane home.
The next morning, we woke up and Mommy and Daddy started packing.  Mimi and Papa came over for a visit and gave me a present.  It was a soft bunny with big funny ears!  It was nice to see them, but before I knew it we were out the door driving to the airport to go home.  I really like airplanes - I find it easy to entertain myself and remain calm.  Its not so hard when Mommy or Daddy are holding me the whole time. And the seats on the way home were really big and cushy - I even fell asleep with Mommy holding me and that never happens!
Whew!  What a fast, fun weekend!  I guess its back to daycare for me!!
