A Fabulous Four Year Old!

Happy Birthday to me! I'm 4 now! I have only been waiting months and months for this. Now I don't have to tell anyone that I'm turning four soon because I am four! My birthday was great, especially since I got to spread it out over two days. It fell on a Monday this year so we got to have cake and open presents on Sunday when Daddy was home from work. I requested a horse cake, and of course Mommy delivered! I loved my cake! It looked pretty and tasted even better!
When I woke up Monday morning on my actual birthday, I was surprised with a Frozen balloon (the one I point out EVERY time we go to the grocery store) and as a special treat, we went to a Durham Bulls baseball game! The weather was perfect both Sunday and Monday, so the baseball game was extremely enjoyable. Not to mention we had the entire first row in the outfield to ourselves! I got to pick out a special treat to eat at the game and I chose funnel cake! Boy was it good! Daddy says that the baseball games are over for the season and we have to wait until next season until we can go again. Thankfully we had a great time to finish the season!
For my birthday, I got a castle dollhouse! I love it! It's a wonderful gift because I've been asking for one AND I don't mind sharing with Adam because it's big enough for the both of us to play with it and not get in each other's way! The best thing about it is I keep it in my room. My dolls went to a baseball game when I went to a game and in the evening my dolls go to bed when I go to bed.
Next big event - my first day of school next week! The end of August is always so exciting and busy!

Things When I'm Older!

I frequently tell Mommy that I will be able to do things when I'm older. Sometimes it can be a matter of minutes, hours or days until I'm old enough to do things, as opposed to years. For example, the other day when we were swimming I told Mommy I could go under the water when I was older. Five minutes later, I went under the water and proudly announced to her that I did so. (She witnessed it as proof that I did it). There have been lots of things that I can do now that I'm older.
I can read "Are You My Mother?" passionately to Adam all by myself. I can go speeding down the driveway on my scooter now (balanced on one foot, I might add). I can swim in the pool by myself with my floaty. I can  manage the playground all on my own now, including the spinny thing at the pond playground.
There are a few things that I have mentioned that I will do when I turn four - I better make sure I can master all of them in the next few days because I turn four next week!!!

Visitors from Texas!

Last week, Mimi and Papa drove here from Texas for a visit! It took them a really long time to get here, but they made it. I'm glad they made the long trip because we had a really fun time together filled with outdoor adventures (the weather was perfect for it), countless games of CandyLand, reading, going for walks, eating ice cream cones, and spending lots of time together!
Three generations of some good lookin' ladies by the waterfall!

Lazy Summer!

It hasn't exactly been a lazy summer, but I have been lazy about blogging because we've just been so busy enjoying the summer! Summer is all about spending a ton of time outside, which leaves little time for sitting at the computer blogging!
I am happy to report that we've gone to another Durham Bulls baseball game, traveled to the beach to visit our cousins, have gone on what seems like 100 walks around the block, eaten homemade fudge pops on the font porch, taken Thursday morning bicycle rides, watched the trash truck, enjoyed story time at the library, met friends at the park (I can proudly say I can master most of the climbing apparatuses at the park), taken some fun bubble baths - and the list goes on. Mommy tries to keep me as busy as possible in the summer so I don't get bored. She has been reminding me recently though, that school starts soon - and even better, my birthday is coming up and will be turning 4!!!
