We had a really busy, really fun few days when Mimi and Papa came to visit. The fun started with a picnic lunch at the airport observation deck before we picked them up. We had a good afternoon enjoying beautiful weather at the park. On Thursday we went to Pullen Park where we got to enjoy the amusements before a picnic lunch and Marbles Museum! Papa took me around the museum and we explored some rooms, but I spent the majority of my time in the hockey rink and rings. I hung on them so many times my arms were sore the next day. We were all exhausted by the end of the day, so exhausted that we needed the day off on Friday! Little did I know what was in store for Saturday.

We had a beach day! The beach was much more much fun this time! I spent most of the day jumping in the crashing waves! I think I only sat down to eat lunch. Luckily, Mimi and Papa were there so there were extra people to stay with my at the edge of the water. A couple of times Mommy and Daddy took me past the crashing waves to swim in the deeper water. I liked how you could feel the push and pull of the current and floating over the waves. Even though the water got in my eyes and stung a few times when the waves crashed in my face, I'm starting to get used to the ocean! Mommy was impressed that I would swim around in the shallow waves by myself. This was a completely different beach experience than I've had before, I can't wait to go back! We went out to a restaurant after we cleaned up at the beach and I inhaled dinner I was so hungry from our beach day! When we finished our meal, we got a nice ice cream sandwich surprise which I enjoyed so much I would have licked the plate if Mommy hadn't taken the plate away from me. Papa was certain that Adam and I would pass out once we got back in the car to drive home, but Mimi and I played lots of fun letter games in the way back of the car before I passed out just about a half hour before we got home.

If I thought we needed the day off on Friday, did we ever need Sunday to recover! We enjoyed a fun excursion to the waterfall and went fishing for sticks that Papa was throwing in the water before it got hot out and we enjoyed some inside activities. Mimi got me a cool activity book that helps me practice my handwriting and reading. On Monday we enjoyed the morning at the swimming pool. I showed Mimi and Papa how well I could go under the water, whether I was swimming, jumping in or bobbing in the shallow end. I didn't want to leave the pool, but we had to leave and take Mimi and Papa to the airport.
Mimi and Papa couldn't believe how we just go go go no matter where we go or what we do and I know that Mimi is really impressed at how well I am reading. She just couldn't believe the books that I was reading to her. We are going to need an entire week to recover from a great visit!
