More Singing and Dancing

If I ever hear someone leave the house, I always go to the front window to look out

Sometimes when we are lounging around the house, Mommy and Daddy play tunes for me on the computer.  I enjoy it because it's always a surprise and you never know what song is going to come on next.  I especially like when "If You're Happy and You Know It" comes on.  This weekend I surprised Mommy and Daddy because I knew what to do when the song said, "And your face will surely show it".  I  point to my cheeks and smile when that part of the song comes.  (I learned that at daycare).  I also know what do do during the song "Wheels on the Bus" when it gets to the part where the babies go waa waa and the Mommies go shh shh.
When Mommy and I were reading one of my animal books, I surprised her when we got to the cow.  I saw the picture and instantly said "Moooo!" Daddy and I watched videos on the computer of different animal sounds this weekend so I could see and hear what noises animals make.  Maybe they will take me to the zoo sometime soon.  That would be fun.  Speaking of animals, last weekend when it was raining, Mommy and Daddy took me to the mall where the carousel was so that I could ride it.  When it first started, I got scared and almost cried, but I got used to it after a while and I had fun.  By the time I was really having a good time, the ride slowed down and it was over.  There is a carousel at Pullen Park that I will hopefully get to ride soon.  Maybe Mimi and Papa will take me on it when they come to visit soon....

I guess the weekend is over, my chores are done and it's time for another week at school.  So far, I'm really good at helping move the clean damp clothes into the dryer for Mommy, I'm fairly good at swiffering the floors, and every time silverware needs to be emptied from the dishwasher, I am such a big help.  I will need to keep learning how to help around the house so that when the new baby comes I can step up and help out when Mommy and Daddy need me.

BIG SISTER!

Me and Daddy before we opened the envelope telling us if its a boy or girl!
What is the baby? The secret is safe with me!!
Things have been busy around here recently.  So busy that I forgot to mention that I am going to be a big sister soon!!!  I found out in October that Mommy would be having a baby.  To announce the news to everybody, I wore a shirt that says, 'Big Sisters are the Coolest'.  I will make THE BEST big sister.  Everyday I ensure that I say hi to the baby and kiss Mommy's belly.  Sometimes I get excited and hit her belly, but for the most part I try to be gentle.

To make things busier, I have been spending a lot of time at the doctor.  I have gone once a week since the new year AND I also got a blood test to test my allergies.  Mommy and Daddy were very proud of how well I did when they drew my blood.  Daddy held me tight and I never even felt the needle because I was brave!  The results from the allergy test was that I have an allergy to dog dander.  It explains why I always get a rash when I am around dogs, but I am glad that I found out I was not allergic to anything else.  The first week of the new year we went to the doctor to check on my ear infection.  Well, it turns out that my ear infection had not improved, in either ear might I add.  So, more antibiotics for me.  Luckily this time I ate lots of yogurt so my belly would not be upset.  A week after hearing the bad news about my ear infection, which doesn't bother me by the way, my teachers at school called Mommy and Daddy to tell them I had a rash.  When Daddy picked me up he was worried because he had never seen this rash before. We went straight to the doctor.  This time, I had a virus.  It is called Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease.  I had a weird bumpy rash all over my feet, legs, hands and there were ulcers in my mouth.  Luckily, it was not contagious, so I could go to school the next day.  I try to be very nice to Mommy and Daddy.  Despite all of my health issues, I stay on my normal best behavior and sleep just like I always do.  Just today, I was back at the doctor again for a follow up visit on my ear infection. I hate to report that I still have fluid in my ear that is showing signs of infection.  Thankfully, the doctor just wants to keep an eye on me and not give me more medicine.  That just means that I get to go to the doctor AGAIN!!  At least I am used to it!

I have been doing a lot of singing and dancing recently.  I love when Daddy sings Row Row Row Your Boat with me and rocks me on his belly.  Mommy sings Wheels on the Bus with me and I roll my hands around like a wheel and dance.  I also have my own song that I sing.  It goes something like this: "Ba Ba Ba, Ba Ba Ba, Ba Ba Ba, Hoooraaay!"  I'm so proud that I came up with a song on my own.  Books are still my favorite toy to drag out of my room and take into the living room so I can sit on the couch and read them.  When I see pictures of bananas I say, "Nana".  I also really like pictures of cows but I haven't yet mastered how to say that yet.
Exhausted after singing and dancing all day.
Phew!  I have been writing a lot - maybe if I didn't wait so much time in between posts, I wouldn't have to write so much.  Until next time, Ba Ba Ba!!

Happy New Year!!!

Its the start of a new year and time to tell how the end of 2011 went and how I plan on getting 2012 off to a great start!
It was a very busy December leading up to the holidays.  Two days before we left for our trip, Daddy took me to the doctor because my eyes were goopy and red.  It turned out that I had a really bad ear infection in BOTH EARS!  They weren't bothering me much, but Mommy and Daddy were worried about how bad my eyes looked.  After I got my medicine I started feeling better, just in time to leave for our trip.  We packed up the car and headed to Pennsylvania to visit Grammy and Grandpa on Thursday afternoon.  On the drive up, we stopped at a hotel to stay the night in Virginia, that way the second day of driving wasn't too long.  We stopped along the way at a mall so we could all stretch our legs and eat lunch.  After that, it was no time before we arrived.  There was a lot to get used to.  A new house (I don't remember much since the last time I was there) and Maggie, who was much less hyper than I remember.  The weather was cold, but at least it was sunny so I got to go for walks with Grammie and Maggie.  And, I got to see my cousins when they got into town too!!  The next day, my godparents came over to visit.  It was nice seeing them.  They brought me some very nice gifts, especially a fun coat that looks like my favorite animal - a duckie!!!

It wasn't much time until Christmas eve arrived!  We had a nice dinner and after dinner we exchanged family gifts.  I got some fun presents, but even better was all the paper!  I loved collecting all the paper in my arms.  Feeling it crumple in my arms was just so much fun.  All the excitement made me really tired though, and I was ready for bed, and ready for Santa to come!
On Christmas morning, Santa had come!  I don't know how he found me all the way in Pennsylvania, but there were lots of presents for me.  And you know what presents mean - paper!!  I loved all the paper!  I got lots of nice clothes and some toys to take home and play with.  I spent the rest of the day chasing Maggie around the house and relaxing.  That night we went to Uncle Matt's house for dinner.  I met a girl there named Layla who was my age.  We played together and it made everyone laugh.  Before I knew it though, it was time for bed again, so we had to go home.
On Monday, we went bowling!  I had so much fun running around the bowling alley.  I got to bowl a few balls with Mommy and Daddy too.  It was fun!  I enjoyed being with my family, especially when Mommy and Daddy left to go on a date.  Grammie and Grandpa did a good job babysitting me.  I have to say, I have gotten a lot of practice with my steps and climbing on the couch.
It was like as soon as we got to Pennsylvania, we were already packing up to leave.  I had a good visit.  Unfortunately the only snow I got to see was the day we left.  And it wasn't much either.
After we got home, it was time to prepare for the new year!  It has been a nice week being at home with Mommy and Daddy.  I have been practicing the new words that I learned over the holiday.  By the time I left Grammie and Grandpa's I could say Maggie - and that was because we spent so much time chasing each other around.  I can also say Santa, tree, shoe and I have perfected Mamma and Dadda!

Since we have been home, I have been climbing on the furniture. Mommy and Daddy let me stay up on the couch as long as I stay seated.  Sometimes I can't help myself though and I get up to jump.  The weather has been really nice too, so we have been taking the time to be outside.  On the Friday before New Years Eve, we went to Pullen Park, a really cool park near our house that just opened.  There is a lake there with a train and a carousel.  Even though I didn't ride the rides because it was so crowded, Mommy and Daddy promised we could go back so I could ride the carousel soon!
