Big Sister Stuff

I think I have finally perfected the phrase Big Sister!  That's most likely because I do such a good job helping Mommy drop Adam off at daycare each day.  I HAVE to know how to say it!  It has been nice having Adam at school with me, he did very well on his first week.  People that just see Adam for the first time can tell that we are related and always ask if he's my brother.  He's a good looking baby, so I have no problem being his sister!  Adam is getting more and more fun to play with each day.  Even though I have to keep being reminded that everything I do around him is gentle, I think he is appreciating all the dancing and singing I do around here.  The other night I read Adam one of my favorite books - the Hugawugs ABC's.
I'm also starting to love my chair.  I like to lounge around in it or I sit in it if I want to read or drink my milk.  One of my favorite phrases is Drink my Milk, but instead of that, I say. "Mink a milk!"  I'm also spending a lot of time on another chair, but I don't like that one so much.  The potty is not very comfortable and I don't like going peepee in it yet.  It seems like thats all Mommy and Daddy want to talk about these days; they constantly ask me if I have to go.  Why would I go sit on that when I can just keep playing and do what I've always done??!!?  Maybe one of these days the potty will be fun, but I don't think it is quite yet!

Off to the Beach!

Me with my drink in hand enjoying the beach!

On Thursday night, I noticed that Mommy and Daddy were packing up lots of things and getting ready to go somewhere.  Luckily, they were packing for the beach!!  On Friday, we packed up the truck and drove out to the beach for a day trip!  This time at the beach I didn't have to stay in the tent the whole time like Adam had to; I could play in the sand and go in the water.  Although I COULD go into the water, I didn't want to go into the water.  It scared me so much!  The waves were big and I was afraid that it would knock me over or something.  When Mommy and I took a walk down the beach, the tide started coming in and the waves kept getting closer and closer to where I was walking.  I would yell, "Git water!" and point my finger to try and prevent it from touching me.  Playing in the sand was fun, especially throwing it and letting the breeze carry it downwind.

I had a great beach trip and hopefully next time the waves won't be as big and I will enjoy swimming.  I passed out on the ride home I had such a great day!
The other day when Daddy picked me up from daycare, I was finishing up a drink of water.  He noticed that I was drinking from a cup - something that I don't like doing at home.  So, when we were at the beach they let me use a cup and drink from it!  I'll keep practicing so that I won't have to use sippy cups much longer.

Grown Up Things

For my birthday, Mommy and Daddy bought me a new booster seat for eating at the table.  Now, when I eat with them I can actually sit in a real chair instead of my high chair.  I feel like such a grown up in my new booster seat.  This weekend, they also let me test a pillow for sleeping - I didn't get to use it in my bed, but I tried the one in Mommy and Daddy's bed.  It may take some getting used to, but I really liked laying in bed with a pillow!  Maybe I will eventually get a pillow of my own in bed.
I've also been practicing holding Adam.  The other night, Mommy gave me a blanket to cover him up since she knows how much I love to cover my dolls with Adam's burp clothes.  I think I did a really good job covering him up - I didn't pat him too hard and I didn't cover up his head either!
Today we went to a park that I have never been to before.  I enjoyed some new play equipment.  This park had little balance beams that I could walk across, with a little help from Mommy and Daddy of course.  The weather was much cooler so I didn't get too hot.

On Friday I had my two year checkup!  I behaved very well for the doctor and I did pretty well when I had to get my shots.  I am officially over 24lbs and I'm ALMOST 3 feet tall, just two inches short!  Mommy says I don't have to get any more shots until I am four years old and that makes me a very happy little girl!!!

Labor Day Swim

I'm looking at the Rose of Sharon flower that finally bloomed this summer.  Daddy planted it right before I was born and it came all the way from Pennsylvania!

This weekend was Labor Day so I got a long weekend to be with Mommy and Daddy.  We all needed a long weekend to recuperate after such a big weekend last week.  The weekend was not very nice though and Mommy wanted to take me swimming all weekend.  We finally got the chance on Monday afternoon.  It cleared up after lunch and when I got done napping we suited up and went over to the pool for a little while.  I'm still wary of the water and I don't like it in my face very much.  Mommy wanted to take me swimming more this summer, but it was so busy that she really didn't get the chance.  Maybe next year I will take swimming lessons and learn how to swim better and not be so afraid of the water.
I am getting really good at jumping on the couch.  There is a strong liklihood that i will try gymnastics when I am older because I am so good at jumping on the couch and landing in a sitting position.  In addition to being such a good acrobat, I am practicing all sorts of new words.  Whatever Mommy and Daddy say, I say.  Whatever Mommy does, I usually follow suit.  I find that I learn a lot by repeating others words and actions!
