Fall Break in Texas

Part II: Our adventures continued Saturday morning (we finished Friday with a pizza picnic outside and Daddy arriving at Mimi and Papa's house) with a visit to the Thinkery Children's Museum! There was a really cool jungle gym thing outside that you could climb on, and I made it all the way to the top of it! My other favorite section of the museum was the exercise/play mat area. I could have stayed there all day jumping around on the shaped foam mats! Some of the mats were shaped like steps and I liked walking up the steps and jumping off of them onto the mats. I did that over and over and over again! When we got done at the museum we went back to Mimi and Papa's house for lunch.
After lunch we went to a splash pad! At the splash pad they had different spray waters that were so much fun! The best part was collecting water in a water pitcher and tossing it onto everybody to get them wet! The splash pad was at a park where we played for a little while after we enjoyed the water. Later that evening, Mimi and Papa babysat for me, Adam and Saige while Mommy and Daddy went out to dinner.
Me riding Junior

On Sunday we visited Kiddie Acres, a kiddie amusement park! They had some excellent rides there: a carousel, ferris wheel, boats, airplanes, a train and my favorite - pony rides! The fun didn't stop there. We drove to an ice cream place where I got to use my birthday coupons for everyone to enjoy ice cream. The coolest part about Amy's Ice Cream was the playground! We ate our ice cream then climbed and slid for a while. To wrap up an eventful day, we went out to eat for dinner. The place we went had live music with people dancing, plus a playground! There was just so much to do! I loved the salsa music so much, I got up and danced! At one point, the lead singer let the kids join in and gave us guitars to play! When the band took a break, we went to the park for a bit where I tried tirelessly and bravely to slide down the fireman's pole. Right before it was time to leave I made it down the pole!
Dancing to Salsa Music
Sunday was so busy, we needed a day for rest on Monday. Mommy and Daddy enjoyed a day out together while Mimi, Papa, Adam, Saige and I had a good day together taking a walk along the lake in the morning, then visiting the park a few blocks away (with a pass by our favorite dinosaur).
We all had dinner together that evening, but unfortunately we had to start packing our bags in preparation to go home. Thankfully, the planes on the way home were not very full so I got a window seat on both flights! A great ending to a great trip!
The girls! (And a crazy Uncle Marcus!)

Fall Break in Texas!

PART I.  Because I am not in school, we took a trip to Texas to visit Mimi, Papa, Marcus, Tracie and cousin Saige! There were so many fun activities that Mimi planned for us; every day was an adventure! Mommy took Adam and me a few days early since Daddy had to work. We behaved really well on the airplane, and Adam and I had such a fun time looking out the windows of the airport and the airplanes. Because we left in the morning, we were in Texas right after lunch! Right after getting settled at Mimi and Papa's house we went to the park to stretch our legs. On the way, we walked by a statue of a dinosaur that was really cool! It was dressed like a rock 'n roll star! When we got back, Uncle Marcus, Aunt Tracie and Saige joined us for dinner. Once Saige warmed up to us (it took no time at all once she learned how much fun Adam and I are) we had fun running around the house, blowing bubbles in the backyard and marching around playing instruments. My most favorite activities were painting at the counter, eating strawberries and running up and down the long hallway pretending to be the Mommy cheetah! Adam and Saige were my baby cheetahs!
On Thursday, Saige joined us for the day as we explored Zilker Park. There, we visited a Nature Center where we saw interesting bones and shells, visited some animals and went digging for dinosaurs. After a picnic lunch, we enjoyed a ride on the Zilker Zephyr train that traveled around the park. On the way home from the park, we stopped at a grocery store where they had lobsters in a tank!
On Friday, Saige came over again to play in the morning. Mimi told us that we were going to see Thomas! We ate an early lunch so that we could drive Burnet, TX were we spent "A Day Out with Thomas." There we saw a real life Thomas tank engine! We boarded a train that took us for a ride with Thomas pulling us! Afterwards, we took pictures with Thomas, got balloons, then enjoyed some great entertainment from a magician and puppeteer! It was a fun day!

Two Wheeler Kinda Gal!

I can now proudly say that I don't need training wheels for my bike anymore and I ride on two wheels! The weather on Sunday afternoon was perfect and we were outside enjoying it and Daddy unexpectedly asked if I wanted to try my bike without training wheels and I happily agreed! After a few short jaunts across the cul de sac with Daddy assisting me I was riding all by myself! I had no problems with turning or stopping. I'll need a little bit of practice starting, but other than that I'm doing great, even getting in and out of the driveway too!! Mommy and Daddy are really proud of me!

Mommy and Me Week!

While I do miss being at school and seeing my friends, I enjoyed my first week of track out! I was a big help for Adam on his first day of Pre-K three, easing his mind about going to school, explaining to him what to expect and helping him into his classroom. The best part about Adam being at school was getting Mommy all to myself! We enjoyed activities together and I had fun helping her with things around the house.
We went to Daddy's company picnic today! It was at a park with a playground and Mimi the clown was there making balloons and face painting. She made me a flower balloon and painted the most beautiful zebra smelling a rose on my arm! We enjoyed lunch and playing before we left and went shopping. I helped Mommy shop for some clothes at a big sale. There were lots of people there to admire the beautiful painting on my arm. I made sure to show as many people as I could! Mommy said I was a great help to her at the sale. To top off our fun day, we went to a restaurant on the way home! I love having special days every once and a while!

A Job Well Done!

I am officially a quarter of the way done with the school year! Let track out begin! Mommy and Daddy were very proud of my report card and how well I adjusted to life as a kindergartner. To celebrate, we went out for ice cream after dinner on Friday night. I had my favorite, chocolate chip! It is really obvious that I have been learning a ton of things at school! Check out some of the writing that I have done all by myself!

I'm not sure if it is because I'm a big girl, or a kindergartener, but over the Labor Day weekend, I got another new bed! It's a nice big bed! Sparky fits on it with me and I think that it is really comfortable!
