A Texcellent Adventure

Track out has begun! With all 3's and 4's on my report card, I need some time for celebration and relaxation. A trip to Texas would do the trick. After packing up, we left on Wednesday to begin our trip. As always, when we arrived at the airport, Mimi was waiting at the bottom of the escalator in baggage claim. We had dinner including Marcus, Tracie and Saige followed by a relaxing evening at Mimi and Papa's house in preparation for our side trip to San Antonio. On Thursday morning we drove to San Antonio and visited the San Antonio zoo! I loved seeing the tigers, cheetahs and aardvarks (or anteaters as I call them). We got to ride a carousel and see lots of other animals and finished our visit with a long, fun train ride around Brackenridge park. Saige sat next to me on the train and we are like best buds as she follows my every move. When we were done at the zoo, we had dinner at a Mexican street food restaurant La Gloria before heading to our resort hotel. When we got to the resort, they had s'mores for us to make on the big fire place. It was the perfect ending to a fun zoo day!

The next morning we woke up and went to Sea World. I have never been before, but it was kind of like Animal Kingdom because we went to see shows and rode on rides. All of the shows were great and most of all I loved the Steel Eel, a roller coaster that went really high and almost straight down on the biggest hill! On my first ride with Mommy, I was so scared I practically choked and cried. But, by the end the adrenaline rush was amazing and I was ready to go on it again with Daddy. In the middle of the day it rained and the coaster closed for a bit, but luckily it opened in time before the Orca show and Uncle Marcus rode it with me. Seeing Shamu jump out of the water at the final show of the day was amazing, I'm glad that he did not splash me like he did Adam and Saige! I had already gotten wet enough on the big boat ride earlier in the day. After a spectacular day at Sea World, we went back to the resort, got cleaned up and had dinner at a really fancy restaurant to celebrate Mimi's birthday. The mac and cheese I ordered came in a triangle bowl and it tasted good!

After collapsing into bed and a good night's sleep, we woke up in the morning to another yummy buffet breakfast. I had a waffle shaped like a teddy bear and because it was Mommy's birthday, we ate cupcake for breakfast! I found out at breakfast that Mommy was almost the exact age as me the first time she went to the San Antonio zoo (and she was missing HER front teeth too). When we were done, we got to go swimming! It wasn't really warm enough to go swimming, but the water was warm, so we could! Saige, Adam and I enjoyed jumping into the pool over and over again. Before leaving, I got to go down the really long waterslide too! I didn't want to leave, but we had to check out of the hotel. From there, we drove to downtown San Antonio where we saw the Alamo and enjoyed a stroll along the riverwalk. That led us to the Mexican Market where there was music blasting and vendors selling lots of colorful Mexican goods. Daddy bought me a hat at one of the stores. We ate lunch at Mi Terra, a huge Mexican restaurant. While we were waiting for our food, some Mariachi men came and sang a song to our table. AyayayAAAA! To celebrate Mommy's birthday, they brought a huge Tres Leches cake to the table for us to enjoy!

The next day we were back in Austin again for a day of relaxation. We went over to Saige's house and had a blast playing with her toys and having a fashion show with all of her dress up clothes. We needed a day to relax because the next day we drove into the Hill Country where we had a yummy Texas BBQ lunch at Cooper's BBQ in Llano, then went to Inks Lake State Park. Luckily the rain stopped and the temperature warmed for a nice hike on the rocks overlooking the lake. Saige, Adam and I led the way along the green trail.

We had such a fun visit to Texas, each day was a different adventure filled with fun. The day we had to leave was Mimi's birthday. Papa made for her a video for her birthday so I got to see lots of pictures of her when she was little. We had a pancake breakfast with Mimi, then walked over to the park before we headed to the airport to go home.
