A Love/Dislike Relationship

The weather this time of year can be beautiful one day, then ugly the next. It's cold one day, hot the next. Less than two weeks after we had school cancelled because of ice, we had to go home early because of really bad thunderstorms that were coming. I spend lots of time with Adam, this is normal. When we play upstairs these days, we typically hang out in my bedroom. Certain days, Adam can be annoying. For this reason I have made a sign to put on my door. One side is for his good days, and the other for the bad.

We have been lucky that the weather has been good during the weekends; so we have taken the opportunity to explore the greenways. One week we went on a walk that included a huge bridge, then another week we got to walk under a road and there was such a huge puddle in the middle of the greenway, we had to walk through the woods to get around it! I really enjoy exploring with my family; all the walking doesn't even make my feet hurt!

A Frosty Valentine's

Just like it always does in February, the cold weather comes and there are lots of fun indoor festivities to enjoy. Last weekend, I had a special afternoon with Mommy ice skating. Thankfully she used lots of patience and perseverance to help me learn how to ice skate for my very first time! What an experience! The ice was very slippery and scary at first and I kept slipping backyards. Using the wall, I was able to navigate around the ice twice very slowly. Then, Mommy helped me feel the sensation of gliding by holding behind me and letting my feet glide on the ice. That helped enough to get me off the wall, but still holding Mommy's hand. By the end of our skating adventure I could skate around the ice hand in hand with Mommy. We finished our afternoon watching the Zamboni clean the ice.
I had been waiting for what seemed like an eternity, but the Friday night Daddy Daughter Dance finally arrived! I was so excited to get all primped and prepared for my night out with Daddy. I wore my favorite sequin dress, Mommy did my nails, hair and make-up, and I put my boots on and I was ready to dance the night away with Daddy! And dance we did - so much that my feet were sore the next day! We also enjoyed some goodies at the candy bar and took our picture together. The dance theme was Mardi Gras so I got some beads and a mask for the celebration! I had such a wonderful time with my Daddy - I think he had a great time too!!
While waiting for the Daddy daughter dance to come, I spent my evenings working on my Valentine's box for our Valentine's party at school. It was our homework for two weeks!! I had so much fun cutting out pictures and gluing them on the box in addition to adding stickers and all my friends' names. The day of our Valentine's Party we all exchanged Valentines by putting them in each other's boxes! I also made a card for Mommy and Daddy at my party while I ate candy.
