Spring Pictures and Pet Fish!

Spring time at school means school photos, field trips, book fairs and lots of fun playing outside. Here's my spring photo. It would be better if I wasn't missing two bottom teeth!
I also got a new pet!!!! I have been so busy taking care of my new pet that I haven't had time to blog about it. So a few weeks ago, the second graders at my school were having an economics project where they would make things to sell to other students at the school. I took some of my money from home and we visited some of the classes where I bought some things. One of the things I bought was a fish bowl. Secretly I knew that if I bought one I could convince Mommy and Daddy that we could get a fish. Mommy and Daddy told me that if I wanted a fish, I could use my own money from my piggy bank to buy one. So, that very weekend we went to the colorful fish store and bought a Beta fish! My fish is so pretty, mostly red with some yellow spots on her head and purple stripes near her tail. She is a girl by the way. It took at least a day to figure out what to call her, and at first I though she should be named Stripey, but at last I settled on Fiona. I love Fiona. It's fun to watch her, talk to her and feed her. I especially love watching her gobble up her food after I drop it in the water; sometimes she eats two pieces at a time! I'm so happy that I have my first pet!

Exciting Milestones

Last week we began learning how to jump rope at school. I came home on Tuesday night after PE very enthusiastic about jump roping. There is one girl in my class who can jump rope very fast and I wanted to jump rope just like her. I began to practice that night, the jump rope slapping the ground, swinging madly over my head and jumping over the rope if I could manage. I even practiced inside on the carpet in the playroom. Two nights later, after lots of determination and practice at school and home I finally got the hang of it. Now I can jump rope like a pro and I can add that to the list of things that I can do!

Last weekend I also had another visit from the tooth fairy. On Saturday my tooth got very loose. I was nervous about it all day and after dinner I kept messing with it not knowing what to do. Daddy suggested something that he did as a kid. If I took a piece of toilet paper and used it to grip my tooth I could pull it out. I warily went in the bathroom, got some paper, took a little tug and like magic, it came out on my first try!! Daddy knew the trick!
